This initial research was conducted by Robert Salmon and Garrett Strong from Brigham Young University’s Facility Management program.
Cleaning standards create an environment that ensures the building’s quality, safety and health of people therein. Cleaning is an essential function in K-12 schools and recent research has shown that students in cleaner environments have an improved capacity to learn. Current research finds that there is no cleaning standard for public K-12 educational facilities and students are frequently exposed to poor indoor environments.
